As a professional information security consultant, with a background in engineering, product management and marketing, I’ve been using many social media tools for quite a while now. I feel it’s important for consultants to be up-to-speed on trends in their industry, and podcasts are an excellent way to stay in touch in just about any subject area – especially if you don’t have much time to read or surf the web.
How I use podcasts for business
As a blogger and podcaster, I understand that the world is made up of people who prefer different types of media – audio, video and text. So, I use podcasts as a way to reach more people than just blogging. I also use Twitter, Facebook and Linked In, so that I can understand how they work when I advise my clients and community members on the security risks of the new tools they are exposed to on the Internet.
How I can help you
One of the most important areas of podcasting I think I can help podcasters with is in planning for their target market and branding. I am developing a process that goes through all the seemingly minor decisions and details in putting together a podcast that can affect the program’s ability to meet your objectives.
I'm also interested in doing guest-host exchanges, depending on the podcast topic and audience.
