Q. What is your suggestion for the best "low budget" semi-pro podcasting microphone?

A. While there are many mics on the market, if you are on a budget AND want to sound as professional as possible in your podcasts, try the Blue Snowball mic. It is a USB mic so you do not need to purchase any pre-amps or sound boards. You can pick one up online (Amazon, other stores) for about $80. It comes with a stand and has a built in popper (to muff the "p"'s).

And me too. I just bought a Snowball for recording on the road, and will use it at my home studio for podcasting as well. Still getting used to it. I have another mic that I use for corporate work, but I think this Snowball will do the job for podcasting and quick gigs.
