This Reality Podcast is an independently-produced weekly mix of music from all genres, discussion and observations on wide-ranging topics and reviews of bands, gigs, books and films.
This Reality Podcast is an antidote to the bland, anodyne, insipid, advertisement-filled output of the mainstream media.
This Reality Podcast is all about entertainment. We produce it for fun. Our listeners have fun. It's a kind of musical circle of life. |

Hey everyone my name id Mike "TFG1" Blanchard along with my friend Steve/Megatron Phillips run a podcasting network called Geek Cast Radio Network. We have a variety of shows mostly dedicated to TV/Film. Here is a run down of the shows that are currently active:
All Things Transformers (ATTF): Transformers discussion/news based show
Geek Cast Radio Podcast (GCR): the flagship show of the network where all generally geeky topics are talked about.
Movie Week In Review (MWIRE): the weekly movie review show where we review 1 to several films depending on if it's a film series.
ToonCast (TC) Dedicated to reminiscing on the cartoons we grew up with. From Looney Tunes to Clerks The Animated Series. This show has a timeline from the 1930's to 1999.
The Beast Unleashed Podcast (TBU): The First Ever Official Beast Wars Beast Machines cartoon review podcast.
The Secret Origins Podcast (TSOP): The Justice League/JLU cartoon review show
The TFG1 Podcast (TFG1): My very first podcast dedicated to the Generation 1 Transformers Cartoon.
ToyCast (Toy): ToyCast is a anytime show where we discuss any and all toylines. It started it out as Transformers ToyCast.
I have also interviewed several people:
Stan Bush Transformers Musician 4x
Larry Kenney (Voice Of Lion-O)
David Kaye
Garry Chalk
Tara Strong
We strive to have our listeners entertained and I personally do not make podcasts for kids. All our shows are Explicit so if you have sensitive ears please refrain from listening. We also have several shows waiting in the wings to be launched. As soon as some of the current shows end those will begin.
You can find us on twitter and facebook. We have a facebook group and fan page. just search GeekCast Radio Network
the twitter ID's for the shows are as follows:
GCRNMWIRE
GCRNToonCast
GeekCastRadio
SecretOrigins
BeastUnleashed
TFToyCast
if anyone wants to collaborte with us you can email me at tfg1podcast@gmail.com
I'm also a co host on This Week In Geek's Nerd News Network.
My advice would be make sure you have a topic or topics you are passionate to talk about. Also do the research on the topic so your not fumbling during recording. As well as have good recording equipment like a condenser mic.
The last part there isn't neccessary but I use a condenser mic and I've never sounded better.

Derek Koch Podcasting for Fun | Subject: RE: Tell Us About YOUR Podcast! Announce YOUR Podcast! posted by MailOrderZombie on Saturday, March 6th 2010 @ 3:03 PM
My name is Derek M. Koch, also known as Brother D, the producer and co-host of Mail Order Zombie, a weekly zombie movie podcast that's produced a regular weekly episode since January 2008. (We've never missed a week!) Since our launch, we've attracted a worldwide audience and currently have a 5-star rating in the iTunes store. Since the first zombie movie (1932's White Zombie), there have been over 500 zombie movies produced, and someone has to tell you which ones to watch and which ones to avoid, and that's what we do every week on MOZ. We've reviewed over 200 zombie movies to date, rating each one on a scale of 1-5 Headshots. We also include reviews of zombie novels, videogames, comic books, iPhone apps and audio dramas. Additionally, we regularly feature interviews with actors, directors, screenwriters and authors.
In addition to covering zombie media, Mail Order Zombie also includes regular segments from seceral contirbutors covering topics like survival in a post-zompacalypse world, medical advice, advice on how to stay fed, etc., with the idea that these segments while are fun from a "What if?" viewpoint, they also provide real-world knowledge and can be used in real-world situations.
Like your post-apocalypse sans zombies? A semi-regular segment called The Post Script covers zombie-free post-apocalyptic literature and movies. This segment is typically produce by my wife and co-host Miss Bren.
Mail Order Zombie also features a question-of-the-month called the Zombie Aptitude Test, or ZAT, in which listeners (which we've come to call the Mail Order Zombie Family) share their thoughts on questions as diverse as, "What's your favorite non-Romero zombie movie?" to, "If the zompacalypse really happened, would you still watch your favorite zombie movies?" (One of our most popular ZAT questions last year we called Zombie Karaoke. Yes, it was exactly what it sounds like it was, and we'll probably do it again this year!)
Every show opens with a segment we call The Zombie Beat in which we report on the week's zombie media news, and evey show ends with our Feedback Discussion in which Miss Bren and I review the week's emails and voicemails. This Feedback Discussion usually anchors the show, as it's the most interactive portion of the podcast.
Occasionally, we try to produce "theme-months," having run "Phantasm Month" in which we covered the Phantasm franchise, one movie a week for the entire month, "Summer Knights" in which we teamed up with another horror podcast to cover the four Tombs of the Blind Dead films, and this month is the second year of our "March of the Zombi(e)" series in which we're reviewing zombie movies that at one point have been released under the title Zombie or Zombi or a sequel to one of these movies. (Last year, we covered the Zombie/Zombi franchise proper. This year, we'll be covering movies like The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue and The Hanging Woman, which have both been released at one time as Zombi 3.)
We always try to cover more than just the mainstream films. Zombieland, Shaun of the Dead, and Romero's films will be covered, but so will movies like Motor Home From Hell, Autopsy of the Dead, Zombie Honeymoon and The Zombie Diaries.
Every year, we produce a special episode in which we announce the winners of the Dead Letter Awards, which is our way of honoring the previous year's best in zombie movies and media. (The nominees are announced on our anniversary show, and then the MOZ Family can vote for their favorites until the Awards Show itself.)
I'd like to invite everyone to check us out at http://www.mailorderzombie.com, or you can subscribe to us through our feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/MailOrderZombie. Typically, the show runs between 90-120 minutes. (We do have an EXPLICIT tag in the iTunes store.) |

So far my podcast involves questions by people asking about grants and grant program and my answer to their questions.

Now Learning To Podcast...
I'm a teacher in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. I supervise students in the trades programs. These high school students are taking the same technical courses and writing the same first-year exam as an adult apprentice would towards their journeyman's ticket.
Mobile and asynchronous learning would fit best with these kids, as their work placements are spread out all over the Greater Vancouver area.
Career and Employability skills for the students, and mobile learning (m-learning) Professional Development will be my podcasting areas.
I also managed to talk Apple into loaning me 10 Macbooks and 10 iPod touches for the month of June 2010 to train coworkers on podcasting.

Super No Vacancy - The Wrestling Podcast For The Wrestling Nerd
A podcast that is a celebration of geeky and nerd culture that is badly disguised as a podcast based around pro wrestling.
Truthfully, the days of Steve Austin and The Rock and wrestling being "cool" are looong over.
We harbor no qualms about our overall uncooliness. In between talking about WWE, TNA, and anything in the independent wrestling scene, myself and my co-host, Ness, go out of our way to talk about anything from anime to video games and all that awesome stuff in between, because wrestling is nerdy, and we're unabashed and unapologetic about our nerdiness.
And we don't live in our parent's basement, either.

Hi everybody!
I'm Rick and I run a podcast called the United States of Geekdom. We are a bi-weekly, all topics, podcast where we talk about all things geeky. We pull our next topic from a hat (an Indiana Jones Fedora, the geekiest hat we have) at the end of each episode so we never know what we are going to talk about next. Past topics have included Red Dawn, Adaptations gone wrong, The Venture Brothers, and defending your fanboy obsession. Upcoming episodes include the psychology and nature of collecting (recorded and in the can) and Saturday Morning Cartoons (not recorded yet!).
We also put out two minicasts. One is weekly and that one is called the Collector Sector in which we discuss the releases in comics, DVD, and collectibles. The other one is called the Geeky Bureau of Rumor Control, or G.B.R.C. We also have a video podcast that recently started called USG TV. Needless to say, we have out hands in just about everything.

It's a multi-character, multi-faceted show that lasts about an hour. Due to the length and complexity of the podcast, we publish once a month. The end of 2010 will mark our 20th episode. Join your hosts Beth, Allan and John as we establish podcast firsts such as the very first interview with a headless person, a lobotomy performed live on the podcast by our medical correspondent, Dr. Larry (on himself), and the very first wedding between a human and a ferret. We have been producing the show since 2008, and we always seem to manage some great reviews in iTunes. Here's just a handful of more than 50 reviews we've received in iTunes stores worldwide about Podcasters' Emporium.
“A few weeks ago I knew absolutely nothing about podcasting, sound management, microphones or where to start… this series has given me the exact starting points, heaps of tips and helped me to avoid expensive newbie mistakes” DreamSnake (iTunes review- Australian store)
“Priceless! Great podcast personalities, amazing content, motivational, dozens of nuggest of invaluable wisdom” Rayray King (iTunes review- Canadian store)

I'm excited to have found this site! :-) I have worked in real radio (and TV) for 7 years, but my real passion is that I'm trying to build my show (and audience) online, but that has proved tricky (especially since I've had limited time to really work on it).
My online radio show is called, "Schmidt Talk", through Blog Talk Radio. My show is geared toward the offbeat, wacky, dorky, silly, and anololous weird things in life. (The weirder, the better!) ;-) I'm currently shopping around for a new place to put my podcast (although I will probably keep my show at Blog Talk Radio too, since I have some subscribers / listener base there). I will just upload podcasts there, instead of doing my show exclusively there. And that's kind of why I'm here. Looking to network outside of there. I need a little podcast help.
Looking forward to meeting more of you in the online podcast community! Feel free to connect with me on twitter/facebook, etc., |
