Live Broadcasting with iPhone and Ustream!

posted by Bo Bennett, Group AdministratorTuesday, December 15th 2009 @ 7:06 AM (not yet rated)    post viewed 1336 times

This article is for iPhone users.  If you have another smartphone device, check to see if ustream has a similar application.

Ustream recently launched a new "live broadcaster" application that allows you to broadcast live video from your iPhone via wireless AND 3G connection.  The app is free, and the ustream account is free.

To Get Started:

1) Visit http://www.ustream.tv and open up your free account.  Follow the directions on site to create your account, then create a "channel".

2) On your iPhone, visit your app store and search for "ustream live broadcaster".  Note: Ustream has more than one app.  You want the live broadcaster. Install.

3) Run the ustream broadcaster application.  It will guide you though the setup and within seconds you can be broadcasting!

Notice the URL - this is your live URL that you want to share with people.  In the options section, you can set this app up so every time you go live you can notify your Twitter followers.  The only feature I see missing is the ability to notify people via e-mail from your address book.  Oh well, maybe the next version.
